A Compassionate Guide on Your Healing Journey
I am Kristine S. Miller, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with over 30 years of experience in mental health, specializing in trauma-informed, integrative therapy for individuals and couples. My approach is deeply rooted in the belief that human responses to trauma, emotional pain, and life transitions are adaptive and meaningful. Rather than viewing clients as broken or in need of fixing, I see therapy as a collaborative process where healing unfolds when individuals are provided with safety, respect, and the space to reclaim agency and self-trust.
A defining moment in my journey as a therapist was when I met Dr. Steven Vazquez and experienced Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT®) firsthand during one of his seminars. This transformative experience reshaped my understanding of healing and reinforced my commitment to approaches that combine neuroscience with lived experience, focusing on the nervous system’s natural ability to heal when given the right conditions.
I am deeply passionate about offering therapeutic work that honors the unique needs of each client. Therapy with me is paced and collaborative, focusing on creating a safe space where you can explore your emotions, connect with your deeper wisdom, and uncover new possibilities. I value transparency, consent, and clear boundaries in the therapeutic relationship, and I work best with individuals who are ready for deep, thoughtful healing and are not interested in rushed solutions.
Having spent many years working in diverse settings, I’ve always felt drawn to the beauty and vastness of Montana, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to establish Moonwater Integrative in this remarkable place. I believe in a therapy that is grounded, ethical, and human—one that holds a space for you to rediscover your true self.
Moonwater Integrative is a trauma-focused, person-centered therapy practice offering in-person and secure telehealth services for adults and couples across Texas, including Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, and Burnet County. We provide depth-oriented, integrative care for individuals and couples seeking more than symptom relief—supporting meaningful emotional healing, nervous system regulation, and lasting transformation. Our work is grounded in trauma-informed, relational care that honors the complexity of each client’s lived experience. We support adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, identity exploration, relational challenges, and major life transitions, offering a therapeutic space that is collaborative, consent-centered, and emotionally attuned. Therapy unfolds at a pace that feels safe and sustainable, allowing clients to reconnect with themselves and their relationships in ways that foster resilience and clarity.
Our premarital work in Texas is designed to support couples in entering commitment with clarity, intention, and emotional confidence. Drawing on the Gottman Method, our approach helps couples deepen their understanding of one another, strengthen emotional attunement, and develop a shared relational language that supports long-term partnership. Rather than focusing on potential problems, this work emphasizes relational strengths, emotional intelligence, and the capacity to navigate differences with respect and care. Our goal is to help couples cultivate trust, resilience, and secure connection before marriage or long-term commitment—so the relationship feels grounded, collaborative, and emotionally sustainable as life evolves.
Couples therapy at Moonwater Integrative is centered on strengthening emotional safety, trust, and connection within the relationship. Our expertise lies in helping couples move out of reactive patterns and into more intentional, attuned ways of relating—supporting both partners in feeling seen, heard, and valued. This work focuses on repairing emotional ruptures, increasing mutual understanding, and fostering a deeper sense of partnership over time. Our objective is not simply to reduce conflict, but to help couples build relational resilience—so they can navigate challenges with greater empathy, stability, and emotional intimacy, both within therapy and beyond it.
Our couples work in Texas is guided by a thoughtful, compassionate framework rooted in the Gottman Method, one of the most extensively researched approaches to couples therapy. This framework emphasizes communication skills, conflict repair, emotional intimacy, and long-term relational stability, while remaining responsive to each couple’s unique dynamic. We provide a respectful and balanced therapeutic process where both partners are supported equally and encouraged to engage in honest, collaborative dialogue. Care is consent-centered and paced to ensure emotional safety, allowing meaningful change to emerge naturally over time. Our goal is to help couples build relationships that feel secure, connected, and sustainable—grounded in trust, understanding, and shared intention.
